The baristas at Caffee Crema learn their craft from the masters at Fratello Coffee Roasters—a local, boutique roaster with established farmer relationships—before brewing steamy cups of java via four artisan methods or with the Slayer, an industrial, manual espresso machine. The menu stars French pressed cups and Americanos, double shots of espresso underneath a layer of milky cream, along with sausage rolls, biscotti, and other buttery pastries. Hario v60 pour-overs uses a finer grind and a cone-shaped filter for a taste smoother than a freshly shaven whale, and the retro-inspired Slayer machine lays a velvety foundation for lattes and mochas.

Caffe Crema’s expansive lounge area is stocked with plump leather seating and a healthy bookcase, fostering an atmosphere conducive to conversation and googling how to strike up a conversation. The aromatic halls are also the site of regular events that showcase local musicians and visual artists. Every Wednesday at 8 p.m., Caffe Crema holds a free brew method training and coffee tasting session.
