During certification courses at Aqua Sport Scuba Center Inc, an expert staff of master divers escorts water dwellers through scuba fundamentals at a PADI five-star training facility. Spread over six weekday or five weekend sessions, pupils spend 10 classroom hours learning how to plunge into open-water environments and obtain enough street cred to hang out with the most popular sea urchins. After strapping on scuba and snorkelling equipment, divers slip into Aqua Sport’s crystalline pool for a total of 10 hours of in-pool training. Certified instructors lead small classes of eight or fewer through the chlorinated confines of the pool to give students the chance to practice diving in a safe, shark-free environment. Aquanauts head from the classroom to a local lake to complete their four open-water dives, during which they can flip their fins in real-world conditions.
