Alexis Mora Blanco was born in Havana, Cuba—home turf he shares with his passion, salsa. Blanco, who has been dancing since age 5, brought his much-heralded moves to Canada, where he opened La Rumba Cuban Dance School. He and his team of instructors elucidate the steps of Latin styles, including salsa, reggaetón, Afro-Cuban, Bachata, merengue, cha-cha, Cuban rumba and others, in group and private lessons. Teaching more than just the techniques, they impart the art of dancing to the beat with confidence and style. To fully immerse students in Latin dance culture, the instructors invite them to hit the club and the beach during the studio’s annual student trip to Havana.
