By teaching kids to shape clay, we can help stimulate their creativity. At least, that’s the belief of Clay for Kids founder Maureen Dennis. During her tenure as elementary school art teacher, Maureen observed firsthand how art projects could promote personalized learning, sensory development, fine motor skills, and even problem-solving skills.

Maureen’s endeavors laid the foundations of Clay for Kids, who opened the doors of their first location in 1981. Since the Deer Run location’s opening in 2008, adult and child students alike have expanded their artistic horizons with classes in clay-making, pottery wheel instruction, fused-glass, and ceramic painting.
