Despite the name of the business, your body and brain won’t really be doing nothing at Do Nothing Flotation Centre. Sure, it may seem like you’re doing nothing but lying motionless atop calming, epson-saturated water, but there’s a lot going on behind the scenes. For starters, floating in one of the enclosed chambers may help to incite the production of theta brainwaves, which have shown to help the mind to enter into a deeply open and meditative state. And because those brainwaves make you more receptive to learning. But don’t worry—you don’t have to learn how to say “more float time, please” in German in complete dark if you don’t want to. Within the centere’s two custom float rooms, you’ll be able to choose to kick back in traditional pitch black or enjoy the soothing glow of soft LED lights. They have transducers under the tanks that can be used to stream meditations or your own requests (whale sounds, flute music, Spanish lessons).
