We offer Latin, Ballroom, Swing, Country, Hiphop and Breakdance, Special Ladies only classes and fitness classes. Founded in 1986 (the longest running studio in Calgary) DC Dance Club has always been Calgary’s leading and favorite Social, Latin and Ballroom, Swing, HipHop, BreakDance and Country Dance training studio. We offer Private dance Lessons and Group dance Lessons in Calgary for all ages, adults, youth, from beginner to advanced, for social or competitive dance. If you are an absolute beginner dancer looking to learn your first step, the bride and groom looking to shine on your special day, or just wanting to dance for fitness or pleasure DC Dance Club is “The Place” for you.
What’s one tip for first-time students that will make them feel like veterans?
DC is Born out of passion and dreams DC Dance Club dedicates itself in providing the best experience in personalized Latin, Ballroom, Swing, HipHop, Breakdance, Country dance instruction in Calgary. We’ve dreamed of creating the perfect place to dance, a place that would be more than just a Calgary dance studio.
What was the inspiration to start or run this business?
The most memorable is when you have someone who comes in for the first time very reserved and shy and you see them develop confidence over time. And if they start competing as well. It’s very rewarding to see them change and develop their skills. It’s why we love teaching. That’s our reward. I think one of the biggest thing is the friendships we develop as well. Those who have stuck with us and are still here. That’s huge for us. That tells us everything. We have those who are still with us from the very first day! 30 years!
What do you love most about your job?
We have had so many offer the years, from kids reactions, when they put on a performance for the first time, to adults getting so excited about their wedding choreography, and parents (jumping up and down so excited) that their child has responded to the dancing and their teachers the way they are, from being shy to confidence…..so many to choose….
