305 10th St. NW #103, Calgary, Alberta
The independent teaporium offers an abundant selection of natural and organic teas alongside locally made chocolates, teaccessories, and teafused skin products in its cozy Kensington shop. Ease your morning with a cup of the lightly caffeinated Japanese houjicha, an organic green tea with a toasted flavour ($18 for 70g), or for a strong start to a day of weight- and baby-lifting, brew up a cup of the Chinese smoky black, a slightly fruity black tea smoked with pine sap ($18 for 100g). White, oolongs, mate, chai, and more are offered at the tearie, and aficionados of the brewable can happily spend an afternoon leafing through the selection or mooning over the handmade teapots, teacups, and gallery of tea storage tins designed by local Calgary artists.
The Naked Leaf is independently owned and operated by a former professional dancer with a passion for the tasty leaves and their myriad health benefits. The warm and knowledgeable staff is happy to help new tea drinkers find a blend or hairstyle that’s right for them among the shop’s seemingly endless collection.
